BIS, a statutory body under the administrative control of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India, is the National Standards Body of India and is responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing etc., in the country.
NAME OF THE POST : Scientist-‘B’
TOTAL NO. OF POSTS : 115 Posts (Mechanical - 31, Civil - 24, Metallurgical - 09, Chemical - 08, Electrical - 31, Computer Engineering/ Computer Science - 10, Textile - 02).
SALARY : Rs . 15600/- To Rs . 39100 (Grade Pay Rs . 5400/ plus allowances as applicable
QUALIFICATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or equivalent in required discipline with not less than 60% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST candidates).
AGE LIMIT : 21-27 Years as on 01/12/2013
AGE RELAXATION : 5 Years for SC/ST candidates; 03 Years for OBC candidates; 10 Years for PWD (Gen) candidates; 15 Years for PWD(SC/ST) Candidates; 13 Years for PWD(OBC) Candidates; 50 years for Departmental candidates serving in BIS.
APPLICATION FEE : A Non-refundable fee of Rs. 750/- payable through Online Mode. No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWD/Women Candidates.
